My Angelfish Have Spawned! Pic & Vid

Brilliant diaries here! And here I was thinking that Angels needed a flat surface (such as a bit of slate or a flat rock) to lay eggs onto... Seems they're happy to put them anywhere, haha! :)

Keep the updates coming guy, i'm glued to this topic :D

Haha, if you could see my tiger barbs and their big fat bellies, you wouldn't say so ;) They're piggies.

It's day 5!!! The lights aren't on yet, but from what I could see, the wigglies are still in place with Mum on guard and Dad really hates it when I peek into the tank :p

Brilliant!

I had to laugh when the male popped up, also when he chased one of your Tiger Barbs away :p

Love you tank too! Even out of focus ;)

The male is pretty funny to watch, he's very sneaky :shifty:

Thanks for the compliment on my tank :)

Day 5 update:

I was a bit bummed to pass by the tank and see the wigglers were all gone :/  ...but then I saw Mum and dad guarding a different leaf, and noticed they had just moved all the little wigglies to a different leaf :)   It's farther over towards the corner of the tank so maybe they felt they would be safer, and it's not directly under the out take like the last place too, so that might have been an issue for them.  The Wigglies are looking good, and bigger and easier to see than yesterday...  video later for sure.

Also, earlier today when i turned the lights on I thought that we had lost a good amount of the fry overnight, but then the dad spat a big bunch of them onto the leaf

hahaha this is funny the castle of all places :) well we can all say the fry are king of the castle :p

The Angels are not in the tank in my sig so unfortunately there was no slate for them to breed on.  I have since added a piece of slate at one end of the tank in hopes that they will move the fry to the slate.  The roof of the castle is not a good place for the fry as the slope is too steep and they are continually falling off.  Amazingly the parents are very quick to pick them up and try to put them back on the castle roof (not sure how long they will keep this up as it is keeping them very busy).  I ended up moving my two Cories out of the tank last night as they were sitting at the base of the castle waiting for fry to fall off.  Unfortunately they ate a few before I got them moved.  This whole episode has cost me some money as I ended up buying another tank (now up to 5 tanks!) to move some of my other fish to as this tank was my 45G community tank.  Never can have enough aquariums!  When we left for work this morning there were still about 30 fry.  I am hoping that when I go home tonight I will find they have moved the fry to a better location in my tank.  Will post a video of the parents tending to the fry and a few more pics tonight.

I wish I had the space (and money) to do this!

Wow greenmumma. Really cool about your babies!!! :) I am severely jealous of your tank too!! It looks sooo good. You did a really good job with it. I told you that you would get it how you like it! Hope you get some new fishies out of your batch of wrigglers! :)

Pops is still trying to scare you away by the looks of it! lol
It is a lovely set-up, mumma. What will you do with the babies when they're bigger?

I really don't know, I haven't let myself think that far into it, I'm actually pretty amazed that they've made it this far.

Day 6: peeked into the tank with the lights still off, but could only see a few wigglies :/ .... they could have completely hatched and began swimming, which is what is expected from day 6, but I don't see any swimming around.

My cories are also dancing around like crazy......  I'm thinking they had a snack
