My 8gal Reef

why have you put the cheato back in

thanks =], i want some mroe LR though, cause there's almost no space for any more corals

I never took it it out , but i did cut it a while back, it need another trim. I want to take it out or do something with it, i dont know what yet

GOOD NEWS! my wheeler goby is eatting more =]

I still feel the tank is a bit still, the goby doesnt move around much

also, in the pictures, behind the goby, there is a bullseye mushroom and its been kinda ill looking since i got it (it is A LOT better now, and has some brown on it, but is still mostly white) anyone know what i should do? or just wait and see what happens, i moved it down cause i read they like reduced light

A hammer or frogspawn coral would fix the "still" look. I'd avoid a torch though, they're a little more picky than their cousins and wouldn't tolerate fastly shifting nano conditions as well

That or a nice Long Tentacled Plate coral

i had a torch in my 55 gal and it didnt turn out so well... =[ i did want a kenya tree but i already have the cabbage and that would be to much space taken up by pink, also i cant find one! >.<

but i did want a coral of higher difficulty =] ill see what my LFS has when i go their next time, the problem is there is no space in my tank right now :/ ill probably have to get some more LR and take out everything and rearrange my rocks

Ah, so you got the goby pair in the end - lovely. I agree with Ski, get yourself a hammer or frogspawn for some movement and by the way I love your aquascape - would be a shame to change it

Looks really nice :good: I have just lost my Torch to the dreaded brown jelly, won't get another one, hammers seem a much better option.

Straydum, that is a brilliant idea with the chaeto, I have been trying to think of a way to keep it away from my emerald crab, he has already scoffed one lot :grr:

yea i really like the rocks the way they are, i could just try to add onto it

can someone tell me more about frogspawns are hammers? like what i have to do to take care of it, where it should be placed, lighting, movement, do i have to feed it? i would need to watch my calc and kh?

Yea i lost my torch in my 55gal to brown jelly =[

i ll have to try that net idea, i had a emerald in my 55gal and it almost finished off my chaeto

thanks ben :good:

EDIT: also does anyone know what type of mushroom, that blue purple greenish one, is?

"Green Striped Mushroom", very common. A member of the Actinodiscus genus

yes that does help =] thanks
so will a hammer be ok in my tank condiering its so small, it will probably be close to other corals...

try to keep your hammer a fair distance away from other corals. when settled down they do extend their sweepers quite a distance. a same gauge is about >5cm from the skeleton. as far as i know, other corals don't fancy being in contact with hammers (except of course other hammers).

if you're worried about contact in your tank you can opt for a branching hammer which for my case sticks out from the main rocks.
