My 64L Planted Tank

looks to me like an albino Chinese algae eater :) i think anyway im not 100% on this i would say im more 90%

ty, all it said at the LFS was algae eater...lol. I had 3 of them but one decided to commit suicide and I found him behind my tank... :rip: But it's all good, I still have 2 of them and they love sitting on my plants and chasing each other around the tank.

sorry my bad i believe it is a golden sucking loach, as my friend has one, and i mistaken it for a albino chinese algae eater. but they told me at the when they brought it they were told it was a golden sucking loach, and the picture of yours looks exactly the same, so therefore i now know i was wrong about it being a chinese algae eater lol! silly me :p
i've only had one algae eater and he didnt last very long, perhaps i should of picked a more hardy algae eater to start off with! oh well we live and learn :)

These algae eaters are very hardy, they have been through hell, my tank has FINALLY cleared up and they are just still with us, I lost a lot of fish for some odd reason, platies and guppies, the hardiest of them all and it didn't effect the algae eaters at all! I would recommend getting them, they are awesome and very nice to watch!

That is absolutely a chinese algae eater. I would inform you to get rid of them at all costs! As the mature they loose their appetite for algae and gain one for fish slime which basically means that it will try to suck the slime off of your fish, killing them. I've lost a many fish to my algae eater and I'm sure anyone who has owned one for a long period of time will agree with me that they are nothing but trouble! other than there first few months when they actually eat algae.

hmm it was hard to tell, i couldnt quite tell what it was they both seem similar looking  i've also lost alot of fish, including a platy which are supposed to be really hardy fish, and my harleuins survived against all the odds, which im quite pleased with because they are a stunning fish to look at :)
