Hi,
This will be the start of my journal for my new tank Aqua One 980T.

I gave up trying to find rocks and driftwood in my own neck of the woods,so it was off to the bigger city.I came across some petrified wood,so three pieces later @ $9.90 a kilo coming in at 10 kilo it emptied the pocket a bit, because of their non uniform shape they have been cleaned and two pieces are sitting in the shed with copius amounts of silicone joining them together.

I also smashed up some small pieces to make a dust/shale type so that when I put the final coat of silcone on I can sprinkle these fine particules on the wet silicone so it hides any silicone that might show. When I do finally get to put it in the tank,if I place it on some egg crate(when I can find some) I will be sitting the petrified wood into one very large puddle of silicone to give it stability.

I had been eyeing off some gold vine in another shop for awhile,so picked up a huge piece that was in a show tank(dry tank)and approached the shop assistant waiting for the price to floor me and she said, there is no price for this in the system,it only goes to medium size not extra large,so she hit me up for $38.00.I was stoked,as I had seen other much smaller pieces going for $30.00+.

I still have to finish putting a bearer and a couple of stumps under the house, new joist are already in,so I am really looking forward(not) to laying under the house with about two and half feet gap and dig out the holes for the stumps with a garden trowel.

Still waiting for the tank to arrive, maybe week or two they are telling me.

Hopefully as time goes along I can get some pics up with the progress.

Thanks for taking the time out to read this.

Pics of the under the house work, reinforcing floor for tank.

I ended up cheating digging the holes to some degree,I attached a one inch spade bit to my drill and drilled into the soil and moved it around like a mixer, not the most practical way to dig a hole out but using a garden trowel was slow work, first hole was not too bad, second hole, one huge rock and one very bruised arm, still holes are done, just stumps and cement to go in.

Hi All,
finally my tank is set up,please excuse the pics as I had just finished filling it and the water is still a bit murky etc.

The rock on the driftwood is to keep it from floating,I soaked it for two weeks and it still wants to float, the Emerald Heart was going to go behind the rocks caves (left side) and the filter pipe, but I am going to put some Contortionist vall behind the cave to hopefully hide the pipe and heater,on the right where there is some Wisteria, more will be added to go behind the tall rocks and the driftwood will have java moss attached to it when it arrives.(Note to Steveo,I reduced the amount of plants I ordered :good: )

The tank will have Rummy Nose Tetras,Neons, corys and Dwarf Bristlenose Pleco/s(still got to read up on them to make sure they will be okay)Please feel free to suggest any thing that could improve the tank, negative or positive.

Thank you for looking.P.S this is my first attempt so what idea I had in my head did not really look like it once it was put into practice, hopefully any suggestions and with plant growth over time it will improve.
