Now you may not wonder why Halfmoon has never been sold in Pet shops any where in the world for the last decade. It is true that if you breed halfmoon to halfmoon you never get 100 % halfmoon but maybe less than 10%. Some said they got 40 % halfmoon out of a spawn but some said they got less than 5 %. The rest of them will be super-delta and delta and the amount of each type will varies depending on mom and dad quality.

I devide my fish into two groups, first is the fishes that show a sign of being halfmoon when they were less than 2 months old and second the fishes that show a sign of being halfmoon when they are older than 2 months old.

The halfmoon from the first group will not spread to 180 degree when it is old and the caudal is very long. This halfmoon is considered as not good for me. The second group are fishes that show 180 degree spread when they are older than 2 months old and if you know how to raise them, they will be halfmoon until they die. Their caudal will not growing very long and the good halfmoon will have their caudal length of about 3/4 of the body length.

Hi Ral. I know that too. I did pm people that who are interested about the babies and I did explained telling them delta, super delta, close to halfmoon, true halfmoon and over halfmoon. That is why I haven't name the babies halfmoon yet. I just called them "the parent babies." Since some of you didn't got my lazy typing words, and always want to attacking me, I have to correct my mistake by adding "'s" and announced it again "My red halfmoon's babies." How about that? The father is a real halfmoon by the way. Do I get mad because someone insulting me? Nope. Do I get sad? Nope. Because it always beautiful day in mylife and experience each day of life. I am not like people who keep attacking people on people small mistakes.
I do know that this forums is not getting friendlier is because of some people action writting in the post to people in such an insulting unmature way to people. No respect. Look at the above on the top as written, "TROPICAL FISH FORUMS, The friendliest Forums Around." I wish they think before writing a post. If you disagreed, you might as well going to another insulting forums and post it there. I don't have to name them here because people can see who those are. End of my speech. Thank you. I believe that yeevia is fully aware of the HM ratio. And also,I've seen his fish when they're full grown and he does indeed get HM's out of them,which is nothing to sneeze at because that's a hard thing to do. Keep up the good work,yeevia Your babies are beautiful

No one was insulting or attacking you yeeviabetta. f250fisherman was just point out that calling them halfmoon babies at this time was incorrect. He also has a point about there being no Halfmoon females. At least I have not seen any yet. The females are Halfmoon Geno females. The lawyer in me has to agree with him. If you sold one as a "Halfmoon Baby", that would be a problem later if it turned out to be a Delta.

People assume that you say what you write, so you sould not accuse anyone of attacking you if you feel a unclear statement you made is misunderstood.

Halfmoon's are a strain I like, but lately am a bit wary about paying the premium price for them. One halfmoon I got for my GF reverted back to a Super Delta a bit more than a month after we got him. Still a nice fish, but a bit dissapointing. I think this his because caudal fin grew longer. Attison explains that much.

I was told that the fish reaches full body size in about 4.5-5 months, but the fins keep growing until the 11th month.

"My Halfmoon's baby's" sounds a bit akward. Why not "My Halfmoon Geno babies".

I think we're all getting a bit picky about terms here. Yeevia is not advertising his fish for sale right now, I don't believe. I think he was just showing the forum his hm's babies

This is what happens when you have lots of spawns.I refer to all of my spawns by their parents..."the reds,the oranges,the metallics,the crowntails"
Now, by calling my fry the "metallics", before even knowing whether they're metallic or not, is not false advertising. It's just refering to spawns amongst friends while showing pics

I guess I'm still sore about vee's US breeder insult that was posted by him before. Since Ive mentioned it more than once, with no apologys coming from him, I don't have much respect for his principles. If he is going to make a statement, then it should be a correct one. Most US people will understand the big dogs statement. It doesn't imply at any time you are a dog. It's a metaphor. You said you have a Masters degree...I'm sure you know what is a Metaphor is. Another metaphor:::: If you are going to sling hash, expect to get messy. Since you talk up the thai fish soooo much, and run down other fish..I for one will hold you accountable for your statements. Thanks Jezah. Wou, I just taking a day break and so much noise in here already. Hehehe I came here to have some fun anyway and meeting great people who has the same interest in all kind of bettas. I share my informations with my experiences to everyone about my breeding bettas for members who is interested. I will keep on going with breeding and keep fixing my breeding betta gene for the future. Thanks so much for people who do supporting me and I will try to keep up-dating you guys what is going on in my new breeding betta and what I am breeding now. I got so many updating news to tell you guys anyway with my new coming babies. LOL I am so pump up. I have to take more pictures to show members soon. So many things to do but so little time.

As for my red halfmoon's babies, I am mentioning the parent especially the father is a halfmoon. So I mean the parent babies. Just like my parent's babies. Got it? English is hard huh! LOL Especially people want to pick on you. LOL
I don't want to used the geno yet because who know some might turn out halfmoon later then what? Right? I still let it open until I think of something in the future.
