My 10g

Wow a 10 gallon for a single Betta, thats cool. Bettas are cheap to keep right? I mean all you really need is about a 1g tank? And the air stone, small filter, and small light. Some decor .... Can't cost too much.

Yep, they are pretty cheap but I would stay away from filters and air stones in a smaller tank because they may become stressed by the current. Also if I can put in my opinion, 1g is suitable but he or she will be happier in something a bit bigger.

Kowalski - the tank and background look awesome! Great job! :D

:rip: Khulis. :(

Have you considered giving your betta a spanking?
Bettas dont do well with spankings, they get all floppy when you hold them up by their tail and start to wack them. Then their tail rips. It's all to messy. Lol no I would never hurt my bettas, I love them to bits.

big time mess up on my part.

Not at all. No matter how much research you do, there's always the unpredictability of individual fish. I just found that out with Lemon Tetras. All the information I got before I bought them said they were peaceful, great community fish, etc. So I got 6 for my 27 U.S. gallon tank (well-planted). Well, once they settled in, all they did was fight each other, all day long. They didn't fight the other tetra species (Glowlights), but all that aggression did put the Glowlights into stress. Then to top it off, they started nipping off the new tips of my lovely plants. They definitely got enough food, and a good variety of it, too, so they weren't eating plants out of hunger. I have yet to find any reference to Lemon Tetras eating plants, or being fighters. Needless to say, I got rid of them, and won't get any more. Maybe they'd be okay in a larger tank, though.

By the way, Kowalksi, your tank looks WAY better with that dark background! My tank also has a dark background; I just painted the back glass with flat black paint.
