Mrs.Reds Eye Look Weird

Ok, So I dont have Decent Digi Cam for a couple of weeks.

I am posting this in the hope that my Teeny weeny cam will pic up his face properly.

His eyes have always been pronounced.

But I moved them fromt he PC to the Living Room while my Little Little Bros was here last weekend.

So I have just moved them back to the PC.

His eyes Look Bigger and they have a white Ring around the Socket.

He is swimming around fine and eating like a pig al usual.

Could it be that i have not really looked at them, recently and have forgotten how his eyes looked or is it something to worry about.

I will post a pix in Members and Link to it, Just got to find that camera now, GRRRR

Ohh They are still in there Cubes and have done ever so well. The Local £1 Shop is going to bet in some nice Glass Jars next week, about 1.5 Litres and they will be round like a goldfish bowl.

your betta definately has popeye! change the water immediately! it is a bacterial infection i belive but im not sure what to treat it with. look it up on google.

Have treated her and will see what happens

I have done another water change and added salt and Interpret Anti Intrnal Bacteria.

Her Eyes are protruding more and she has lost color. She is also keeping her fins Clamped.

Hope she gets Better

She is Staying at the surface still.
Her Mouth is protuding now aswell.

Her colors have come back this morning, a little.

Will do another waterchange and remedicate.

What is the Likely Hood that she will recover. Its been a week now.

Are there any symptoms that show she is near dying or not.

i have never had a fish wiht popeye before. the disease page on bettatalk says it is very easy to cure.

TREATMENT: popeye is not fatal and often betta will fully recover. On occasion he may lose an eye. But if you catch it right away, he should be fine. Immediately do a full water change. Keep his water very clean, changing it every third day. After putting him in clean water, add the antibiotic Ampicilex (Aquatronics) to his water. This medication comes in capsules. A full capsule treats 10 gal of water. So for a 1/2 gallon of water, open the capsule and take the right proportion of powder and sprinkle on jar water. You may steer gently with a disposable plastic spoon. This is a white powder and will not affect the color of the water. Do not overmedicate! Once Betta’s eyes are back to normal, stop the medication. And keep his water clean from now on darn it!!

well how long has she had this? because from what you say it sounds like you thought it was normal and never medicated her..so it could have extensive more damage now because you waited so long. hope the meds finally take affect.

I guess I should have paid more attention to her. Yep she has looked like this from day 1, its just this week it look Icky. Her eyes have always stuck out a little, but never this much. I guess it did not show up as well in the 1st pix I posted of her when I got her

Mrs Red and Mr Pink are my 1st Crowny's.

I hopw that She Pulls thru.

Looking online she looks like a black devil.

She's Still Staying in 1 place.

I am going to add some Oxy tabs to aerate the water more

Mrs Red Is Still Staying at the surface, Her Left Eye has Improved alot but not her Right Eye, That seems to have come out more.

She has regained some color and she is no longer keeping her fins clamped.

She might Pull Through

Yay She Alot better today.

She was Flaring at Ginger, so thats a good sign.

Her left Eye has receeded back into her head alot since last night.
Her Right Eye is still an Issue.

I found a Store selling those Jungle Fizz Tablets some of you have been on about. Are they any good?. They had Bacterial Packs and Loads OF other Types.

one of my dwarf gouramis had pop eye.
i treadted him with and anti fungus medication and did 25% water changes evryday for a week (he's in my 55 commmunity) and both his eyes went down back in his head.

Keep the water very clean as you are doing cause that will help heaps!!!
Keep up the water changes until its goes back in

Mrs Reds Eyes have finally Gone down alot.
She is Back to her normal self and ifs flirting with the Blue Boy next Door.
