i'm going to set up a tank that's part land, part water but i'm having trouble deciding what kinds of amphibians to put inside. I spent the last week researching
1. habitat selection (how much land, what kind of substrate, amount and type of vegetation)
2. diet (how far will i go to feed my pets)
3. accessories such as filtration and water heaters
but i completely ignored the most important part: are the pets interesting to watch? I went to a pet store and saw a tank of 5-10 fire bellied toads. They looked comatose (granted, it might be because they weren't feeding or b/c it was too cold and they were conserving energy i dunno) and i was dissapointed. What kinds of amphibians could i get that would actively be swimming thru the water? (don't mention ADFs because i want guys that use land as well as water). perhaps i could buy some Fire bellied Toads and get a good heater so that they're full of energy for swimming and mating? what do you suggest?
