More Of My Cory Collection

Hi madattiver :)

It's encouraging to hear that it took your lasers a long time to spawn, but that they eventually did. I only have a few greens, but have a good sized group of orange ones. They all looked to be mature when I got them and have been in my tanks over a year now, but I've never seen eggs from either batch.

The black corys are the same way. When I got mine they were proven breeders and they started spawning and haven't really stopped yet. But, I've had a number of people ask me what I was doing to encourage it because their's wouldn't start. I think it might just be a matter of age because the batch I've been raising since last July has not started yet. They are a nice size, but not as large as their parent group are.

The earthworm sticks you mentioned sound interesting. Perhaps I'll give them a try if I need another order from them. I think they also sell bags, and with the aquarium society meetings coming up again in the fall, I'll be placing an order with Kensfish.com sometime soon.

Another of your fish I want to comment on is the gossei. They, along with the longer nosed seussis, are among my favorite corys. They are so colorful and pretty. :D

Lovely cories, I'm incredibly jealous as there's nothing on offer in my LFS like these. I really wanted some barbatus for a while now, but my tank is too hot (thanks to hubby's many lights for his plants - up to 82 degrees - or more some days, even with a fan on!). My bronze, albinos, metaes and trilins are ok though. Maybe my new tank temp might be lower as it'll be a plec tank so much less lighting....
