Hmmmm I have 7 already.....? My name is Debbie and I haven't bought a tank this week.....(forget the one I bought last week)
Well update...I have 18 hatched.....and 2 eggs that look like they will also hatch....had to remove a hell of a lot as they were looking a bit on the naff side...lol.
Wooohoooo.....(god I am one sad person)

Well got up today and had about 16 swimming about last night...this morning only 2 left....all the rest had died.....! God I am having a right time of it at the moment....lost my betta yesterday...my female gourami today and my cory babies, and I got a lovely platy yeaterday who seems to have been picked on in the tank and seems to have scales missing now...so have had to quarantine her...I am sat here thinking....jesus....!

Ouch Debs. seems your having a rougth time of it.
Ill keep you updated if i get any Platy babies but as you said 1 man with 4 girls should be heaven for him!

Dan...I am having a rough time...lol...not to worry....was nice to meet you today....the fish will love that big tank of yours.....yep keep me informed would love to see how the babies will turn out...!
Good Luck vinylman...my first batch of eggs were fine, which I gave to my mate...and they are doing really well...cannot understand why these all died this morning....but suppose it happens....I have noticed a few eggs in my tank again so may collect them in a bit....!

the 2 sunsets are hiding between the plants etc and will not come out, the mickey how ever is trying it on with the female swordtail!

Yuk! That sux.
How are your water parameters? Do you have enough water circulation and oxygenation? Those are both pretty critical for fry. And if you've lost 2 of your fish in that last 2 days then I'd be suspicious.
The only consolation is that you'll more then likely get another shot it is pretty soon.

The hardest part about breeding is raising the fry. You need to do daily water changes and feed little and often to be really successful. Even then you can suffer from overcrowding as the fish grow and loose them then to poor water quality.

Is this albinos? If so dont worry too much they seem really hard to raise, very very fragile.

Water parameters are fine....checked that straight away...yep have an airstone in the tank and a smaller one for the net...the other fish I lost were in another tank.....well after losing the cory babies which I had in a floating container...I transferred the remain two into a breeder net.....the airstone I had in the container I took out and it was just floating in the tank while I sorted the two that were still alive.... I then got distracted for about 30mins (kids) I came back to put the airstone in the net...and couldn't believe it....they had laid more eggs on it. and looking about saw more eggs on the glass....think they thought....hey try another few eggs...lol....needless to say I was pleased...transferrred the eggs into the net....I gave the net a clean tonight as I thought the eggs are not hatching....got my little pipe and started to get some crap outta the net...looked in the white container and saw 5 little ones flying about the container...thought oh heck how will I get em back in the net now....needless to say with perseverance and a little patience...they are back in the net with the 2 bigger ones, who are only slighty bigger....so keep ya fingers crossed that these will survive, the bigger ones are doing well so I am hopeful they will make it to be big cories
I am not too sure of yet as have bronze, albino and peppered in my tank....I think they maybe bronze though...!

At that size I don't even try using a net. I get a length of air hose, stick one end in my mouth and the suck up the fry with the other end (make sure the hose is long enough, you don't want to confuse the fry and make them think they are ciclids).
When mine are at it they take about 4 hours from start to finish. I have to stop putting viagra into their food....
