Discovered on Youtube that some people (Americans) keep Moon jellyfish as pets.

Is this allowed in the UK by law, and if so where can you get them?

May be wrong but I thought jellyfish had to have round aquariums.

No idea. Though I have seen quiet a videos of them in round tanks.

I actually think they are quite boring. Just sort of hang there in the water. Don't imagine they do much.

Fair enough.

But they are different.

And I like that, I have my Tetra tank - Which I love. But for my other tank I want something different, so looking into sligtly rarer things like Puffers, newts and now these Jellyspoons.

most jelly fish are kept in round tanks because of the flow, they aren't self propelled, therefore in the wild use the current to travel, and find food, the round tanks make it easy to have a singular constant flow of water to keep them moving, hence why you have seen them in the round tanks, i suppose its possible to keep them in other tanks as in the video posted, but the flow would have to be good, the thing with most marine tanks is they have obstacles (live rock, corals etc) if the jelly fish get blown behind them they are unlikely to be able to get themselves out, which is why jellyfish don't last very long in your average tank.

You'd be better off keeping those fake realistic jellyfish

I find them a bit creepy. I have a bit of a jellyfish phobia lol.

I think there is something very calming about them.

The ones in the video at least.

Not the massive Man o wars you see in documentaries.
