Hi,

I've not heard of this before but has anyone grown this plant?

I've had trouble with my HC carpet (once a few thread algae get into it I find it hard to get rid of, even my shrimps don't like to help) and wondered if this could be the new carpet I'm looking for.

They are claiming on the website that it is easier than ricca to grow as it sinks! It doesn't seem to need a lot of light either. which is good as my other plants have all but shaded out most of my substrate.

Anyone with any experience please let me know how you planted it etc

Cheers

Here's some more pictures from a German!

I've had it before. It's a lovely plant!
The only thing I found is that it's a pain in the !"&£ to keep it looking really good.
It's less maintenance than riccia and In my opinion it looks nicer, oh and It's also likes lower light. ;)

How did you 'plant' it? Did you tie it onto wood etc or did you have it growing on the substrate, as I hope to do?

yeah, Don't go using it as a carpet, mine went that way, it looked horrible, try moss for a carpet.

Yup, it's a nice plant, but such a PITA to keep - it will get everywhere, but if you like the look of it gathering at the base of other plants or in between leaves then you're laughing.

In not too long, although I'm finding that it is doing better in my very low light tank than in my high light tank when it got leggy. In my low light nano, I have it tied down tightly to small slate chippings and it now has covered the slate so it looks almost like a carpet.

Mine went nothing like that, mine stayed really compact which is odd.
A testament to who badly I gets everywhere, I got rid of it 2 months ago, I smashed the base of my tank and rebuilt it a few days ago, surprise surprise I found no end of bits of it in the substrate in the roots of my hair grass, growing under my log, everywhere you can imagine.

Thanks for the input.

I've tied it to my bogwood and hope that it looks as good as yours. It's stayed where I put it at the moment!

I like the slate chip idea to form a carpet - wish I had thought of that.

Thanks again.
