Having read most of the posts on Tetras, I still have some questions. For a 10 gal tank with just Tetras (and a small cory cat) I now have 4 black, 2 silver tipped and 2 glow light. I would like to add 8 more, some or all being cardinal tetras. As Tetras should be in groups of at least 3-4, do I need to add 2 more silver tipped and 2 more glowlights? Or will the 8 I now have be okay so that I could add 4-8 cardinals and some neons or other tetras? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forum

The general guide is to have an inch of adult fish per gallon of water. (this guide only applies to fish which grow 3 inches or less). By this guide you are already overstocked. Tetras should be in groups of 6+ of the same variety. Corys should be in group of 3+.

Upgrade to a bigger tank if you want to get more fish MTS (multiple tank syndrome) is setting in this is how it starts

Emma, thank you for providing me with the information I needed. I do have 2 25gal tanks but no accessories for either one. I hope spring comes soon so I start hitting the yard sales. Thanks again. Tom
