In general can Puffer species be mixed in the marine environment?

I know some room would be needed but could a Ceylon (aka Topaz) Puffer and Porcupine work?

Any input is much appreciated.
TIM :good:

Since those two species are fairly "far apart", they would probably not fight. I don't think (harmful) interspecific aggression is all too common between the species you mention, anyways. A far bigger problem would be the eventual size of the Porcupine Puffer, as depending on the species they grow anywhere between 1' 6'' and 3' (not a misprint).

Yeah, I mean i'm aware of their eventual size. Thanks very much for your response.
Finger's crossed it'll all work. I'll let you know how it turns out when I add the porc next week.

Just added porc!! So far the two puffers haven't crossed paths so don't know if there will be aggression! I'm in love with porcy!

He puffed up for my family too see when I brought him home. He's so cutttttee! :hyper:

I am feeling the need for a piccy of him

Fatten them both up.

P.S.
Porcupine puffers are a fish that could be termed "invincible"; the only predator they have that I am aware of are Tiger Sharks... at any rate, the Ceylon would probably come out worse. :(

When the two meet last night it was the Ceylon who was dominating!
Anyways, this morning everything is fine! The Porc is looking quite shy though, but i'm sure his confidence will grow with time. Also, the Ceylon is a lot more active and outgoing than he is normally so in that respect it has done good!

Will keep you updated!

I would like to get a Porcupine Puffer for my 90 gallon, though I'm hesitant because of the animal's ultimate size.

What tank do you have for the Porcupine when it overgrows the one it's in? Just wondering.

I'm having a 225 Gallon tank built into my living room's wall. It'll be a FOWLR system (like I have at the moment except much bigger). Can't wait to get it build! Should be good to go by June... stand by for journal! :hyper:

EDIT - Omg! I just threw a little rubber ball across the room for my ferret to chase and porc chased it when it went passed his tank!!!!

Now this is interesting...

It is my dream that one day I have have my own house which has a tank in the wall between living room and dining room, or an octagonal column tank in the center of a room.

Now the question is... going to be in another topic as this is going to be waaaaaaay off topic.

Expect the post in the next 10 mins XD
