One of my Neon Tetras has gone missing, i had 8 and now there are 7, i check my numbers quite a few times throughout the day, mostly this is down to my ocd as i have to count them three times.

Im gussing the most logical reason is that the fish has worked out how to manipulte space time and has travelled to a parallel universe. So my question is will he come back or is he stuck "over the other side" or is there another reason for his dissaperance? I have checked the gravel, my gravel vacum, the plants and the filter and there is no signs at all.

Thanks

Matt

any other fish in the tank ?

thats a tiny fish, i hoep you checked everywhere very carefully. it could be anywhere. when did you last see it ?

Last seen 6 hours ago, there a betta spenden in there with them. They were in the lfs together so i assumed they would get along

One of my cardinals kept dissappearing at times & then would reappear every other day or so. That was until this morning, when i noticed 1 had died.
Im hoping it was the one that kept hiding as i have read that its not uncommon for 1 to be left out the shoal.

Mine had died. I did a large water change after finding the little guy

Im not sure if its the same one, but i had one neon who just spent his time on his own, the remaing 7 are all together now so i think it is the lonely one. He did this since i got him so mayby he came with a problem

Oh dear, sorry for your loss, how long has your tank been set up for?

Not long enough, brought them from lfs, then joined here and read about needing to have a tank set up for 6 months min. Mines been set up for 3 weeks now with fish in for 2. So i know this is my fault, but i didnt have the relevant information at the time of purchase. They have all seemed happy though, nice bright colours and active.

Thanks
Matt

Good you know/are aware about that, hopefully, they won't die off one by one like it happens to most people. -_- :good:

Maybe some very matured filter sponge might improve the Neons chance of survival?

Thanks guys. A friend has a mature tank so im going to see if i can have some mature filter sponge off him.

Doesn't have to be filter sponges, it can also be filter media, just anyhing that adds mature bacteria into your tank :)
