Missing Scales

I was feeding my Comet, when I noticed he had a few missing scales on each side of his body. Is this normal? hes missing about...I dunno, 5. I would post this in the emergency section, but I dont even know if its normal or not. Please someone help! thankyou

It's quite normal for goldfish to lose scales has he caught them on the gravel or ornaments, just add abit of salt to his tank.

i've got a black moore who's always missing a couple of scfales here and there. It's always been fine. My other goldies seem to lose a couple, it's just more noticeable on the black one coz the missing bits are silver. I say dont panic

if you have plecs or algae eating loaches then look to them as a possible cause for lost scales.
