does anybody know how i would go about doing this? im trying to get something under 100 bucks, so i will build my own canopy and install my own fans. which kit would you recommend?

70 watt unit mounted significantly high over the water with a fan blowing in its general direction...

do i just make canopy and bolt that within it or do i need more? why is the 50w more expensive than the 70 w? shouldnt it be the other way around?

ive never seen a 50 watt MH.... At least i dont know any bulb makers that make this bulb.

Yeah make sure you can buy an aquarium spectrum bulb for a 50watt halide... These 50watt ballasts might be the type designed for outdoor mercury vapor, and prolly won't have spectra suitible for marine aquaria.

so those kits are easy to install right? how far from the top of the tank should i put it to prevent the acrylic from warping or melting?
