Mini Dovii

my lfs sells 100mls for £7. for obvious reasons i get the 500ml from surrey pets now

Got to admit kind of agree with Micko - however its your choice and if your prepared to meet this fishes needs then go for it and of course the forum will help you as much as possible :) But just be careful...

Also is it just me or does this look more like a Freddie rather than a Grammoides?

Wills

Never heard of them lol all I know is mine looks identical to a 4 - 5 inch dovii I seen on the net and mine is 1 mean #29### even at the size he is.

I just looked at a few pics and videos of the freddy cichlids and mines completely different. Has no black banding like all the freddys had and mine has a gold base unlike the bright yellow of the freddy. When I had mine he was quite thin but is rapidly grown in depth and width. Length he has only gained half. Had him for few days. He eats anything that moves but nothing like pellets or fish if it's frozen. He does head the odd frozen bloodworm cube... In 1 bit. He has 2 sharp teeth showin that I can see clearly behind his bottom lip a couple of mm apart

That fish is not a "Mini Dovii" Or Grammodes. It is a Jag "Parachromis managuense". There have been a few JagxDovii being sold by Maidenhead aquatics and swallows aquatics too, it does resemble all of the ones that i have seen. So there is a good chance that it's a hybrid. It could end up to be an 18"+ fish, i hope you've got a big empty tank spare, because it will probably eat everything that you put in with it

He has got a 450 litre all to himself. Only had the tank around 2 weeks but there are already plans for a 6x3x3 to go into our spare room :) just need to get the money together for more sand and another fx5 filter
