after your tank is matured , do *mini cycles* w/amonia spikes occur after maturation? lol (is that a word?) everytime u add fish??????????? or does the bacteria colony prevent this thats *hopefully* lol been established? seems kinda like a dumb question but i have read alot of books + never saw anything on this...also, seems everyone is water chg happy on cycling a new tank, jezzz i didnt touch my water, advised by my LFS ..I'm a lil over 3 weeks out with 17 fish all doing great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im patiently waiting to add my cardinals..ya think this week end? amonia is zero, never checked anything else except PH + that never chgs....

No, it doesn't. The tank is already cycled. Once it is cycled it can't cycle again. What happens is the bacterial colony of your bio-filter is large enough to support your bio-load (the amount of life in the tank). If you increase the bio-load (add fish) then the bacteria needs to multiply and catch up. Normally this isn't a problem, but if you add too many fish at once the ammonia levels produced by the new fish could rise faster then the bacteria can multiply to deal with it, and then you get an ammonia spike.
