Well... it is way after dark here in SA and I've decided to cook a cocktail for my BN's which included Carrot slices.... Beans, .... Peas,..... and Broccoli.... (no salt added.... so I will not share with them)..... Will they eat it & will it be good for them..... (I chucked it in.... but since they're outside.... in the dark, .... I cannot see if they're eating it.

Obvious question...Do you...not ...have a...torch...somewhere...Ludwig...? :look:

I am assuming you do since you buy lots of goofy stuff of ebay
I had 2 BNs many years ago and they ate everything you added to your 'cocktail' apart from carrots and beans.

BTW don't you mean 'a mixture of varied vegetables', I don't know of any cocktails made of vegetables lol

Right..... in broad daylight this morning... I could see that most everything I chucked in disappeared.... there are only 2 carrot slices and one pea left.... the rest was consumed.... (there were 5 carrot slices in there)..... I'm getting desperate for a spawn now!.... they live good... eat good, and everything is in their court..... WHY DO THEY NOT BREED?????

My spawning trio get algae disks and zucchini, thats it! I currently have 2 spawns in the tank i notice today *L*

they will get there Lud, just keep an eye out for one missing for a few days, females should be nice and fat and ready :good:

You got any pics of your pond?
Sorry if I said pond, but atm they are in a standard 3ft tank outside with a heater in the tank, but I am thinking of moving them to a 3ft deep pond (another topic).....

I fed them peach slices last night, and this morning there was no sign left of it..... So!!... to date it's been Cucumber, beans, peas, brocolli, apple, peach, banana, bloodworm and flakes..... what will they not eat???

people (or atleast i hope not )

Try some extra hot chillis

I feed mine mushrooms and every type of fruit I can get a hold of.
use caution with the cucumbers they seeds may cause problems..

To get to see you BN use a red bulb, I got a cheap bulb holder with a red bulb and you can see the BN all come out to play.
