Microsoft Word Wanted

They may have an email address at 4 even if they don't realise it, my old schools gave everyone an account from default once enrolled. I currently have 4 school email accounts on school servers which I can still access going back to when I was 11 and if you go in with the kid and ask the techies to set it up with your reason I sure they would be happy to help, after all we are human beings :). Students have a massive role in the world many of the modern social revolutions where produced through student activity; feminism, homo-sexual rights etc. The brain reaches its peak abilities at 19 + the knowledge that you have gain through education means that most of the most important inventions, research and theories that contruct the post modern world were created by students.

Its also us students who will be expected to provide for your pensions and welfare with Britain nearly following in the footsteps of Japan with an ageing population meaning there are less people in society of working age then there are outside of the working age hence why taxes are rising, pension age is rising, government subisidies to stay in education and so on.

lol. no it's only once you've stopped being students that you're expected to support peoples pensions,...try not to get ahead of yourself.

If that's what you think then so be it. However while it is true that the young generally have more passion on some subjects and an increased willingness to push the boundaries, to then conclude that the most important inventions, research and discoveries are down to students is simply naive.

Well my wages have been taxed for the last 25 years.I wonder if any of that has found its way into the education system :p

haha, never expected this thread to get so many replies. Thanks everyone. Will be checking all the links later.

Hopefully i'll get somewhere, i don't mind paying just don't want to pay too much. It's either that or the next time someone comes in the pub selling DVD's, i'll have to ask "do you have Microsoft Word" haha

Actually no I am at a public school my parents pay taxes and then my school fees so haven't felt the rewards of your pennies yet although I will when I go to uni I would suspect :good:.

The whole point of the education system and capitalism is to strive to ascertain a higher wage and as you earn more then it comes around you get taxed more (I realise this is a levelled percentile system but if your earning 6 million you still get taxed 40%). The UK has a population of approx 62 million and yet we are 6th biggest economy in the world this is due to us always being on the forefront of the next big level of business, first to the industrial revolution, rapid change by maggy Thatcher to optimise the service industry and close down the heavy industries. Tbhis can only be done through good education.

The post modern world started around the 1990's where has the majority of research been conducted since then? Universities

When do you stop being a student? Is there not always the oppurtunity to learn and gain more knowledge. How long have you been a student of the aquarist hobby? Why is your age a restriction to being a student you can get mature students, you can spend your whole life on the recieving end of the traditional educational institutions
