Miagi's Marine Nano

Actually helped out a shop owner near me. He has one in his tank but didnt know what species it is. Funny that I just noticed it today after reading this :good:

Cool Ski. Is it for sale? I did some searching last night, and they were guite expensive overseas. Quite common here though, lol.

I'm actually not sure if its for sale... Its in one of the coral tanks and hosting happily in a sebae anemone.

Ah yes, an anemone. They love them. Sdaly Ive got T8s, there goes that idea. I put in a Torch coral yesterday, and they have been coming out more and more. :)

Got some new pics from today!

Just bear in mind that the last 2 mushrooms sometimes use their intestines to catch pray and drag it into their mouth to digest it. I have heard of small shrimps and crabs getting drawn in, although I think it is a very rare occurance. I have some similar mushrooms and have had them happily in my nano for well over 6 months now.

Thanks for the heads up Bunjiweb! :good:

Hi Mr Miagi.

Just wanted to ask a few questions on your 20 gallon.

How old is the nano?
What are the dimensions of the tank?

I am currently desperate for a marine tank, still doing loads and loads of research first though. Havent got the space for it at the minute but will be moving in with my girlfriend soon so will definetly be getting one then. Also do you have a sump in it?

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks

Hey Barker23!

The Nano was bought completely set-up from as fellow hobbyist, so im not sure how old exactly. Id guess over 3 years with the previous owner, and ive had it 12+ months?

The dimensions are 3ft long, 1 ft deep, by around 14" tall.

There is no sump in it ATM, but I am planning to increase the volume in the display, and adding an internal overflow to accomodate a sump and refugium. All in planning though. :)

Its an awsome hobby, different from FW. Ive gone from FW only, to a reef and planted FW tank, to a Reef and a FOWLR. Its all too consuming! Youll weant bigger and better as the time role by.

looking good miagi, especially like those spotty shrooms.

Need to post some up to date pics of my recent nano upgrade..

Ben

Tanks coming along just fine Mr M, some stunners you got there.

All my LFS seems to be getting in lately is junk, seeing all these just rubs it in even more

New Picture updates ppl! :good: Got a new MH unit, so just photo acclimiating my corals, which have been under 3 x 30W flouros (used to be four, but one died). Im doing this by folding some fly screen mesh around four times, and placing it beneath the MH bulb. The unit also has moonlight LED's plus 2 x 30W T5's. :shifty: Bring on CLAMS! :shout:

In the mean time, snorkling the other day I collected macro algae, and bought a fish on an LFS crawl with some buddies from MASAOG.

Fish unknown as yet, looks like a Dartfish to me. He disappeared after I acclimiated him, and I thought he jumped and was eaten by my cat, but he made himself aparent after 6 days!

I set up a Pico Reef in my Bedroom the other night too. :good: All up, the all in one tank cost $70, Aragonite sand cost $10, LR cost $13, and Mushrooms $10, so for $103AUS dollars I have a pico, with good lighting and a moon light.
