What are some messy fish? Ones that will really strain the bioload? I'd really like to avoid massive "poopers".

Yeah, I've heard that plecs are messy guys. I have a candy-striped one, but I don't see alot coming out of him, but he's still real small (just around 2 inches).

On the otherside...what are some fish that add very little to the bioload?

corries have very little poop.

just wait till thet pleco reaches full size, then youll see how big its poop will be.

Oh, I don't think it'll be too bad, since candy-striped ones are only suppose to reach around 5 inches. :)

I've got a 7-8 inch gibby, and he always hangs around the back of the tank behind the plant (during the day anyway!) and whe I vac the gravel back there, the poo is HUGE!!!  So yes, Plecs are mucky pups!!!!!!

Goldfish and koi are poo machines! On the other end of the spectrum, small bodied fish like neon tetras have very bioload.

Hahaha. Lovely.
My goldfish are little poo-string factories. Sometimes they are just swimming about happily with a poo about twice as long as their body trailing behind. Honestly, where does it come from?
