only the plecs turn my head but even on them i need to stop stocking my big tank with plecs incase of them terrorising my rays!!!

I changed it friday!! not riding any more seemed stupid to be paul the biker if i didn't ride so Paul MTS it is which i am on other forums.

what does £650 get you the 8x2x2 with sump?? that sound pretty good, i'll have to see what the rpcie is at work!!.

yep still on trimars list but I'm going to have to try and forget unless i buy 1 to sell on when bigger at a uch higher and profit making price

Sounds like a master plan Paul! One thing lets that down, every time i try it i get attatched to the fish, and end up buying it a bigger tank and then keeping it in there! I dont think i have to move this one though lol!
I picked up an adonis to go in this tank when its set up, hes living with my community fish at the moment

I won't be any more attached than i am to my TSN and i love that thing, but i need something to replace him, even if it's another TSN!! I love the shape of a shovel nose catfish!!

I'm considering moving 1 of my plecs along now as I'm not too attached to it and takes up more room that i apriciate it for!

I can' see me getitng another big tank for a long time!!!, much bigger than my current one and I would need to get windows taken out!! I only just got my tank through, i had it on it's end to get through door ways!!.

I take it that its a common pleco then? they are like ten a penny, especially largish ones, my lfs gets them given to it, and they can only shift them by putting a rice tag of £10 on them

Tell me about the tanks though! i gave up with my 6ft tank when i bust it on a door frame! I get them built in place now by my lfs guy whos a great tank builder. mmmm i kinda thinking when i do this im gona have to get it built on the floor in either a really sturdy hardwood stand whtich will cost a bomb or get a cast iron stand and put a case around it to hide all of the wirres/ sump

nah it's a L71 starry night ancistrus, it's just a bit boring for my liking now!!

we haven't had descent size plecs in fro a while now, we had a rush of 3 in a month or 2 back all at the same time and got about 15-20 for each...which gets split between the workers

Well there was 4 of us carrying it and first we turned it on it's side to get it through the front door and down the hallway, but as it was a tight turn we had to flip it up on end then push it about 15ft to it's resting spot.

My dad then built the stand in the room as there was no way that was getting throguh the door frames. Mines made out of 3x3 wood then some of the peices were cut down the middle where not as much support was needed.

then taped lots of polysterene in place and me and my mate lifted it up onto the stand....ta dah!! as it took a well to sort out me plumbing i was climbing inside the tank to scrub it and silicone the back ground on.

At work the place we get our tanks from charge £100 to come and build it on site, i thought it would cost alot more than that though.

If you do wooden make sure you varnish/water proof any wood that might come in contact with water. I'm making a splash guard for the litle shelf in front of my tank now as when i'm pouring a bucket of hot water in i also dribble some down the front, and worried the wood might get dodgy from that!!

What do you think then of keeping an adonis pleco with the tig? Its quite big at 9 inch, and VERY spikey, i really do stress really spikey! couldnt catch it in a net lol, so we had to pick it up

would this self defence work on a tig? also what concerns me is that it has two huge filaments on its caudal fin, is the tig liable to chew them or atack them?

I think it would do fine, they grow just as big as the tigs as far as i remember and I doubt the tig would bother with it at all realising it can't eat it.

unless u can provide it with something like a 10x4 tank when it's fully grown i'd leave the silver, i can put you in contact with the guy i got my asian off.
