Members Forum.

Hi all.
I have resently been on another forum and found that they have a forum called ''members Forum''.
I looked at it and checked it out.
It's like normal posting only that you enter this forum called ''member's forum'' and instead of having ''post new topic'' they have ''post new forum'', and you can create a title for your forum like ''cars, or fixing cars, car chit chat'' but you can only create one forum. It's normal the people just creat a topic like ''how to paint cars, my cars is over heated'' stuff like that.
And yes, still it has to be moderated.YN

Everyone would be making pointless forums in which nobody would post.

we have been looking at this on the Forum i mod on. its not as bad as you may think on space. as far as i can tell, its more like changing the name thread, to forum. if you see what i mean, so you post a forum/thread, and people reply to it. and yes people will post many and sundry subjects, but that is the idea. Modding is another matter, depending on the rules used, it will not be fun to mod. however if you start it and it is popular, it will be worth it imo.

most people know that, however general threads do come up even here, this would be a place for them to be. properly ruled and policed, general sections, greatly enhance any forum. it is where the members form, connections and relationships with people, who outwardly, share nothing in common but fish.

whilst i fully accept the forum rule on this, i feel it has more to do with the forum not wanting to let people get upset, or more likely deal with it. despite this i would still like to see it, and so will take any opportunity to advocate for its return. just as people who don't like the idea, would suggest it should not.

I think I'm well aware there is no General, unlike you I was here when there was one... Rules, no difference. It's still pointless, just slightly more so than the standard General, becasue this one tries to pretent to be 'cool' by changing the word 'topic' to 'forum'... It fools nobody.

Sigh... You really don't seem to get the message, do you? You as in, not only you, but most of the forum in general.

Again, you weren't here when there was a General. Considering how high on the numpty scale a lot of the newer members seem to be, if it didn't work then, it's certainly unlikely to work now. And if you want connections etc, try Chat.

Perhaps, but that's a pretty big problem. If people can get upset enough for topics to be locked when someone disputes their tank or stocking, there's going to be hell of a ruckus when the religion debates start.

it sounds more like allowing each person to mod their own little forum.
