I watched an interesting documentary last night suggesting the Megalodon still exists, they showed a whale that had been cleanly bitten in half and suggested only a Megalodon could do this. Sadly though with fake news all the rage these days, you can't believe anything.

They don't exist. Discovery Channel faked the images, theguardian is a trusted page so.

Well I'm scared of beingbitten by a normal shark lol.. Never trusted the sea. May I saw Jaws at an age I shouldn't have done lol. I know I watched Silence of the Lambs when it came out, I was 9.

They have big teeth and cause hurties to things they bite :(

On a serious note, they might still exist but there wouldn't be many. The ocean is vast and people are still discovering new things in it.

The Megalodon could live in deep water and people haven't fished for it. I mean what would you use as bait, a cow, small whale or 2 tonne of fish?

David Attenborough did a good show called Blue Planet, and a second series too, I think he had something on there that was considered extinct.

I believe that was the coelacanth.

Chuck Norris once caught a megalodon on a 3-weight fly rod.

You have nothing to worry about Salty. If a Megalodon comes into shallow water, everyone would see it, they are pretty big. And an adult Megalodon isn't going to worry about eating a human, you are just too small. The shark would swallow you whole when it inhaled.

---------------
The Coelacanth is still around. They found them off the coast of Africa and there are apparently some in public aquariums now.

I don't think it exists. If it did, then I think the whale would have been eaten instead of bitten in half. Plus, I think a Megaladon's mouth would be too big to just bite the whale in half. The whale was probably killed by a boat.
