I bought him today, converted one of my bedside tanks into a small fighter tank with shrimp.

He's only small, rather small actually, so I'm assuming he's still young.
He's also rather inquisitive for his first day with me, watching me water change the other tanks.
He's had a quick nibble and then run off back into his plants.
You can just see his blue flecks in that picture, he hasn't learnt to pose yet sadly, but we'll get there.

One of his tank mates, Shrimples, the cherry shrimp.

red VTs are very special to me. i love them!!!!
and he will be a happy chappy in that nice tank with the shrimpies!
cheers

Actually, looking at him, he has more of a spade tail, the mrs wanted to call him "petal" because of it.
Why are red VT's so special to you?

my first and favorite (dont tell the others) betta was a red VT. he was a sweet man who played nice with everyone and everything. the nicest fish you could ask for. he sadly died at the ripe old (estimated) age of 3+. he was the most personable betta i have owned to date. so when i see red VTs it makes me smile.
and he is certainly VT. just on the young side. i *heart* him
cheers

Nice betta my red betta is also called simon lol! Love the tank set up as well.
