This is Gurt. He is a galaxy koi male that has been at the petco near my house since 7/27. Gurt seems to be losing some scales and seems very skinny around his head and main body. His fins don’t seem to be overly tore up but We’ll be keeping an eye on those.
Gurt was a 25$ impulse buy because he looked the most miserable or the lot and had been there the longest second only to an elephant ear male that had a date of 7/18 written on his cup.
Gurt will be placed in his own 3.5 heated and cycled fish tank while he’s being treated. I’ve bought some Indian almond leaves and have the standard cabinet of fish meds If things start going south. Right now I’m thinking gentle partial water changes every day with some protein rich foods.
Any advice on what else I can do for Gurt would be most welcome, as the only betta I’ve treated from petco thus far only has extreme cases of fin rot.
