Please do not use salt in tanks with corys. It is not a myth at all. :no:

Catfish and loaches absorb the salt through their skin and it remains in their systems. It might not kill them immediately, but it will result in kidney failure or liver damage in the long run.

If you keep your aquarium in good chemical balance and do frequent water changes and gravel vacuumings, your tank will be healthy and there is no need for "tonics," antibacterials such as MelaFix, or salt.

I don't mean any disrespect here, but it's often hard to know what source of information to believe. I've searched the net on the subject and didn't come up with much except for a few sites (forums/articles) that said it was OK to use salt in your cory tanks.

Here's one article that says it's OK.
 
Can I just ask does that include Hillstream loaches in the not to use salt theme as I have 3 in my goldfish tank and have used Aquarium salt so wouldnt like to think I could be harming their kidneys etc
