Mbuna Tank Nearly Cycled

Hi all,

Collected fish from the lfs today, got them aclimatised to the water temp and water stats and finally netted and released them a few hours ago :hyper: .

They are some crazy little buggers  . The catfish gave gone into hiding, but the 15 demasoni are completely off the wall. There is a lot of showing off, some are trying to dig their way out of the tank, it is amazing the size of the holes in the rock these guys can fit into, great fun to watch. Gave them some food an hour ago, the tank was like a scene from the 70's film piranha. These guys are only an inch long but my god they are like pigs (no offence to any pig lovers  ).

Anyway all seem to have settled in ok, they are certainly not shy, just a bit worried my flow rate may be a bit high so will keep an eye on that as well as water stats every day for next couple of weeks.

Glad I decided on the species tank now. :D

Definately looking forward to pics, demasoni are great little fish!
As long as they aren't getting blown across the tank by the filter(s), don't worry about the flow, they get used to it really fast.

Have actually taken out powerhead to reduce the current in the tank, they seem more comfortable without it. There is a hell of a lot of posturing between the larger fish, the smaller are just keeping out of the way.

Very energetic little fish, would recommend to anyone :good:
