Here's my thoughts.

#1) if a person is ripping people off, you inform the mod team, and appropriate action is taken. If the person really is scamming people, then they are banned.

#2) having a seller rating system is beyond the scope of this forum. Frankly, having a buy and sell section is almost beyond our scope. It is tough to make sure that everyone is being fair with an all-volunteer part time staff. Issues do happen. Especially since we have an international presence.

So, in the end, the best way to check on someone is to look through their old posts, especially the classifieds section, and see if the people they've dealt with have left good notes.

I think that expecting anything more is beyond our capabilities. If you are nervous about buying via this forum, you probably should just stick to places like eBay where they do have staff to ensure that the rating system is implemented correctly and staff to deal with issues that arise.

The problem with some sort of "feedback" is you are relying on people using it. A simple line on the bottom of the sales form asking for a comment/feedback once the transaction has taken place might be an option without causing too much work for the mods.

The problem with that idea is if you actually go through each add that is on at the moment there are quite a few that have not bothered with the sales form.

personally. i feel this is both unnecessary and impractical. you can get seller fed back from Eb?y a SELLING site. this is a fish forum, there is a vast difference.

I'd go further, its a terrible idea. one of many, recently, all involving giving people badges, to polish their egos.
