Mantis Starter Kit

I dunno how much the mantis is worth, but you can buy the equipment in shops for £20, maybe slightly less even :good: .

Yes they are i got them through a program that allows you ta get the eggs as long as they are released. The idea is to spread the species through there habitat more.

Thats a good idea. I wouldn't mind doing something like that, just don't think I'd be able to get them to breed.

Getting my mantis to breed was four easy steps

1. Get eggs
2.eggs hach no mater what.
3.put mantis in garden.
4.more eggs.
repeat

It's not worth it really, although it depends on the species you get. Mantids don't require huge spaces, although the sizes do vary so obviously, decide which sorts of species you're interested in. Many don't even require a heatmat as long as it's not freezing cold, although they're cheap enough anyway.

I have had 2 mantis now and they are really easy to care for, really all they need to be housed in is a large jar although mine lives in a fancy shmancy exoterra.

what species where they? is it pretty cold in your house? My house is pretty cold so it would be good if I could get a mantis which doesn't need a heatmat
