cichlid floating food
live worms
only thing i havent is the brine shrimp cause it hasent come in yet.

he just wont eat, he hovers there looks at me then
puts his face in the corner like a little kid being punished.

he hasent even tried any of the food ive put it their.

and he also has something wrong woth his scales it looks like he is shedding kind of like a snake, he was perfectly healthy and vibrant a few days ago!!!!!!

and he is only about 8-9 in long he is still young

apparently mine dosent deserve to be saved :-(

hopefully all of yours die :grr:  :sly:  :< :rip:

Can you post test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, what was the ph of the store to your tank, and sometimes they won't eat for a couple of days if they are stressed due to the move, the peeling does it have any white patches on the fish body.

it's not that we don't want your fish to live. Me for example, I don't know how to help you, so I don't even bother posting. In Fact I"m curious as to see what is wrong with your fish as well. And those who do know, well they're not on here 24 hours a day, sometimes just a few minutes.

Don't lose patience ;) And most fish don't eat the first few days they're brought home cause they're all weirded out as to what's going on. Give'em a few days, hopefully he'll come around.

Oh and is there a way you can post a pic of your fishy? Sometimes it's easier if people can see exactly what hes got.

wont be till later when i get home but ill try and get a pic up

That's real sweet.

Unfortunately they're picky like that. I had the hardest time getting mine to eat in the beginning. He finally took some frozen bloodworms that were practically squirted directly into his mouth. The ONLY (only!) dry food mine will take is Pro Balance medium pellets (they're nearly baby sized  ) but he loves them and he knows any other food by sight..or he just knows HIS food, whatever, but he throws a hissy if I dare even try anything different.

So,in a nutshell, you have to just keep trying different foods. In the meantime you could go buy some live ghost shrimp, those are never turned down.

As for his scales, does he have any tankmates?

i just saw some gohst shrimp at the stor in town and was thinking of that
im gonna hurry up and go there before they close ni an hour

i was thinking that when i was looking at them....... :D

oh ya the stuff on the scales is white if that matters

looks like scales are peeling.

he was orange but now he is turning white except for wwhere that stuff is on him

the store was closed last night im going their today

It sounds like columnaris to me, you will need an anti internal bacteria med and some salts, also i would try and do some salt baths, is their anyway you can issolate the fish for treatment, also what are your test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, as it can be caused by poor water quality.

nope all wrong it WAS a fungus thing and its dead now :rip:

he looks like sh!# though aome of his scales are gone and other wierd stuff but the fungus stuff is almost all gone now

i just had to put in a broad spectrum antibiotic.

still dont have a clue how he got it though
neither of our fish have ever had it before :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:
