Maidenhead Aquatics

i Find that hard to understand i use Hereford all the time and they are great i often hear them asking how long the tank has been set up and all the relevant questions.

I find the staff at MHA in hull are great with advice and ask all the neccassary questions before you buy any fish from them, all be it they are generally quite pricey compared to some other places I visit but the fish I have bought are thriving.

i was there today, they have a good plant choise but the fish were way more expencive then fishy business, and in maiden head there was like 50 fish to a small 10l tank..... staff not to good or helpfull, but its proberly just that store, all the rest sound fine

The staff are always busy and do help you if you ask. Fishy Business and MA have about the same size tanks, every LFS has to have loads of fish in one tank, it's temporary. The plants are crap just like most places the fish are awesome and just as good prices as Fishy Business. MA @ Hickstead are awesome I've been going there for 2 years, they never sold me anything bad except for perhaps 3 yo yo loaches for 60l, but that's not too bad.

complain all you want. At the end of the day its a business and they are there to make money. If people are too lazy and selfish to be arsed to do basic research then they are the people you should be complaining about in the main.

Enjoy your high horses

Not quite on my high horse, maybe just a small pony ;)

I agree with the sentiment here, but i think some people (me included when i was a kid) had no idea there was so much to it. If i'm honest, when a tank of fish ended up on my lap because somebody couldn't house them, I thought giving the tank a right good clear out and totally fresh water with some dechlorinator was the best thing for them. Thought the little fishies would love me for it.

Your are right that it is a business at the end of the day, but many businesses still have rules for thier industry and ethics to consider. Why should fishkeeping be let off the hook.

BTW.. The chaps at the woking MA are great. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and diligent.

my local maidenhead aquatics (Iver) is very good, good selection of fish and the staff are nice/friendly and seem to have alot of knowledge compaired to many other stores.

Well this is the same store that let us take home 6 tetras, when we told them we set our tank up that morning (we knew nothing about cycling then)

*shrugs*

I'm not saying all the staff are rubbish. A couple of them have been very helpful.

i live in hereford and i think the store is very good. it had a good range of fish and i have never had a bad experience with them, now pets at home in hereford is total different it is shocking there never going there again.
