Lucky Dip Cichlid Id

which p@h was this lol?

stockport. its a great store. my other half wanted me to buy it but i said no way ! the staff were all huddled round after i pointed it out and they couldn't id it from the books they had. said it was an acara/convict hybrid. she had laid her eggs on a rock.

I go in there quite often. The staff are totally useless, but they have some nice fish and a cracking marine display :good:

You managed to get any better pictures of yours yet?

Sad to say the black one was dead in the tank when I woke up this morning. No injuries at all

Gutted about it. My other fish are ok so far, tested everything in api master kit and results were fine. I'm down to 10 fish after rehoming all my non cichlids. Tank looks bare

It won't look bare when they all grow. Get some barbs or pictus cats or both to bring it to life a little. I would recommend them both as long as you get a more placid barb type due to your Angel.

Had to strip the tank down last week after my problems. They all went in my other tank with the guppies. I emptied the tank completely, washed all the gravel. Poured out the old water from the ex 1200 and filed it with dechlorinator water. Washed all the fake grass and old wood , cleaned the inlet outlet pipes. I lost so many fish and rehomed all the rest of my community fish I'm concentrating on cichlids now. Everything seems great now .

My tank now

1 angel
1juvi festivum
2 juvi firemouth
1 unknown small cichlid could be a Dempsey/texas/acara or flower horn.
4 juvi geophagus brasiliensis . Poor things have no dorsals because they were shipped to the LFs with too many in the bag.
I know I said I would wait but I went to peir and came out with juvi severums which were labeled as red faced severums. They are blue In colour. I will get photos up hopefully. They are a 2 inch and a 3 inch.
1 pleco that I've had about a year. Eliotti is in my other tank still as it was looking peeky.

My new tank will be about 7/8 foot and hopefully in by the end of the year. I have no plans for target fish just yet. Is my stocking ok ? I'm hoping the little one is an acara. I'll wait and see and decide what to do when I'm sure of its type and temperement. It's a sweet tiny fish right now just minding its own. I've seen more badass guppies but as it grows it could all change

I'm on my mobile phone so having problems figuring out how to embed the video. My modem broke last night so using my phones Internet. If someone could embed it I'd be very greatful. So the unknown cichlid is in there. The severums which were labelled red faced in peir aquatics, if anyone can give me a latin name of them it would be great. they were lighter in the bag but have gone darker, possibly to do with having dark substrate. My big firemouth is chasing and flaring today, possible mating behaviour although I'm not sure of the sexes because my other one is much smaller than it and isn't acting strange. They were circling each other for a few seconds earlier but the big one is abit manic today. Seems to be guarding an area.

Hers is your video:

Sounds like your tank is going to be pretty full when they grow, you will definatly need that upgrade!!

I got a Severum from there last summer which looks like yours. It was labelled up as a wild caught red neck Severum, but after a debate on here it turned out to be an F1 Belem Severum. Yours could well be offspring from the same parents or from the brothers and sisters of mine. Here are some pics of mine for reference:

Thanks for posting them and yes they are like that but with dark banding at the moment. I guess we're family now lol. I'm sat here. Now watching them and the Blue is so vivid, I'm in love. We're getting the tank from nd and it's probably going to be 8 foot.

Yes lol I guess so. Gorgeous arnt they. Those bands are caused by stress. Mine gets them a lot at the moment due to my Ellioti. They may go once they settle down a bit. Mine was a fussy eater at first, but he is ok now. How are yours at eating?
