Well, the Jack Dempsey that was in my 30 gal died. He wasn't sick, no injuries. I think he was just sad or stressed or something. Ever since my Texas died he hasn't been the same.
Just this week I've lost a stripped con, don't know why, one of my double-black lace angels swam too far into a conch shell and I guess got stuck and died, and in my other tank I lost 2 platies.
When it rains it pours, right?

:( sorry to hear about your fish how did your jack do I have been dying for me one of them I have a 55 gallon tank with nothing in it I was wondering what to put in with it could you help me out some.

Isn't death supposed to come in threes? Well you got a double dose i guess, 6 fish. That sux i feel for you.

FKSAM: A JD would be great in a 55. I have one in my 55 with a green terror. You could do a JD with a convict, jewel, GT, acara - just about any medium sized cichlid. JDs are not fussy, eat anything you give them and get brilliant colors as they mature. They are very hardy and not as aggressive as the name makes them out to be. Mine is a female and a bit smaller than my male GT. The JD will get to about 8" and can be territorial, so some caves should be provided. They are also relatively easy to breed should you choose that route. Hope this helps you out!!!!

wetwetwet, no I haven't tested it. Everything else in the tank was ok. There was a tiny pink con and a Raphael in there, moved them on into the 55g and moved my baby Angels in to the tank with 3 new ones and just tonight we moved my big Angel, Aros, into it. The fish that died were in 4 different tanks. The stripped con that I lost was in the 55 and everyone else in there is doing great.

fksam- right now I have too many fish in my 55, so don't go with as many as I have unless you plan to get a bigger tank, ok? But, that said, I have in there right now 1- 4" Green Severum, 1- 3.5" GT, 2 JD's (3" & 2.5"), 1- 3" Jewel, 1- 2.5" female stripped con, 2 pink cons (2" & 1.25"), 1 pictus, 1 raphael, 5 sumatra barbs for dithers and 4 rosy reds that were put in for feeders about 2 or 3 weeks ago and are very happily co-existing for now. Like I said, I have way too many in there right now, and they will have to be split up sooner rather than later. For now tho, I must say that everyone is getting along. There are occasional flare ups, mostly a little bracing here and there over territory and the Severum tries to get after my GT when its feeding time. The GT just basically ignores him or uses his vastly greater flexability and speed to get out of his way. I think I have a rare Sev in that he shows more aggression than what most say Sev's should be. Any of the fish that I have should get along well in a tank with a JD on a long term basis, but as I said, unless you want to get more tanks (and big ones at that) I would only pick one, possibly 2 others to go with your JD.

impur- I certainly hope this is the end of the bad luck with my fish! I just hate losing them, they are like my babies! (And I have 4 daughters! Guess I just love being motherly!) :*)

Sorry for the long post! Must be feeling talkative tonight  :*)
