Losing Guppys

Some guppies are more persistent than others. I keep one of my tanks as an all male guppy tank and some are more dead set on following/mating with/displaying for the others. I've not had any "violence" though, not really any fights either... just persistent displaying/mating attempts.

So... I don't know if "get on" is really the right word. I'd not expect much fin nipping, perhaps nipping directed to the area they want to mate with, sort of a poking to the side/bottom of another.

I do suspect your deaths are related to something other than guppy aggression, but unfortunately I don't know what.

I am opening this up again, can anyone tell me if the picture attached is a male or female guppy?

Thanks

Its quite blurry but appears to be shaped like a female and colored like a female. If that is a triangular shaped fin on the bottom then a female for sure.

Thanks, that orange one i posted about above is still stalking the other Guppys, one of which now has a messed up tail. I am going to take it back to the shop today.

A lot of people are having trouble with guppies recently! (Including me!)

Yeah, same here... well a few months back that is. I am giving up on keeping male guppies after mine are gone... they are so fragile. I am quite fond of female guppies though.

Guppies are fragile little creatures! Though their tails are magnificent! I love the leapord tail guppies, they give my tank style! Having such a bright little creature in your tank makes it all worth it, you just have to love them! I love them for their tails, they come in so many different colours and patterns. They are my favourite tropical fish, well the smaller species anyway! Don't give up on guppies, not even the pesky males!
