Looking For Some Advice

Here we go - managed these few pics if they're any better? Coaxed it off the bottom with a bit of food to try and get a picture of it up and about as it were!

Thanks again!

It is a male & does look rather bloated.
How much & how often do you feed?

I use the Aquarian Advance Nutrition Tropical Flake Food and feed nightly just before we go to bed. Usually a tiny pinch for the whole tank, max 1/4 teaspoon ish

I'd take him out of the trap, & not feed for a day or two, then feed some deshelled peas & see how he goes

frozen or fresh peas? do I just literally take the shells off & drop it in or does it need mashing etc? Sorry if thats a daft Q just totally new to this!

Will release him now and just keep the 2 fry in the hatchery!

Thanks loads!!!

Either, but if using frozen defrost first
You can squish them a bit if you like

Yes, i wouldnt feed him for a bit, i had guppys get that big, then "explode" and die. My issue was i fed mine freeze dried blood worms and it stopped him up, the peas didnt even help. As for the mollies, give it a week or two and post another pic of them. I have Platies atm, 1 is pregnant and she is GI-FREAKIN-NORMOUS! She was prego when i got her but i didnt know it, brought her home and a few days later you could tell. She is with another female and a male. I have never put my mommys in a breeder trap because i didnt want the fry to live, exspecially not if i didnt have room, some still lived on there own hiding in my plants. Best of luck to you. Let us know if you got any other questions.

I will of course keep you all posted - You've all been so helpful and welcoming I look forward to speding lots of time here with you

I'd like to try to save some of the fry as a freiend has lost a lot of her top feeders lately so she'd like some for her tank and I will transfer some to my new tank when it's set up & established as well I hope :)

Just a thought before I give them the shelled peas - are they OK defrosted & raw or do they need to be cooked?? - I've got frozen peas but not fresh in the house Sorry if this is a really silly question - just trying to avoid poisoning the fish :)

Thanks again

Frozen peas are fine. Cook them and squeeze them out of their 'shells'.

fab thanks, will try that tonight - at present no change with the blue guppy, still lingering round the bottom and rather fat!

Just to update this - my blue guppy is looking fatter than ever and still very inactive and lingering around the bottom of the tank.

They have all however enjoyed the peas!

Blue guppy died overnight, corpse was totally white & looked like he'd exploded from his back end!

My remaining male guppy is harassing my female mollies, should I be considering another male or female guppy for him?

Also am I right that the guppy won't breed with the mollies?

Sorry for more questions!
