I have never owned a wrasses, from what I am reading most tend to burry themselves under the sand. I am considering buying a Dragon Wrasses but I am concerned because I have a medium to large sized Hermit Crab. Will the Crab kill the Wrasses if it catches it while it is buried in the sand?
Thanks for your advice

unless the hermit crab is the size of a watermelon, he's not gonna catch a fish, especially a wrasse.

I would say probably not.
I have had twin spot and lunar wrasses with several hermits
and never had a problem,
although it was and is a fine substrate, not sand- not
positive if there would be a difference.

I would be more concerned for the safety of your hermits once that dragon wrasse reaches maturity. They are vey aggressve and will easily move large chunks of liverock around the tank.. a hermit would not cause much of a problem once the shell is smashed by the dragon wrasse :/
