i have a 125litre heavily planted tank in need of a pleco. i have two pieces of bogwood coarse gravel and will be adding a hiding place and stone. I was drawn to plec's by their supposed "personality" which i had previously seen in my cories, so i would like to try one out. As i say i have a 125l tank and found it hard to decide betweena bulldog pleco and a bristlenose pleco.

What draws me towards a bulldog is the size; i know that this would fit in my tank fine being at bettween 7.5-12 cm
I like the look of the bristle nose and they are apparently better at cleaning algae but i am not sure whether one would do ok in a tank like mine (124l, 80cm long, 40 deep)

could some one help me here and suggest as to what pleco would do best in my tank adn also what i would need to do to my tank ie. how big hiding places ect.

thanks

It's a UK based forum - what city :)

(I describe myself as living near London when speaking to people from the states) :D

there are a lot of people that breed bristlenoses (and others) on here - Dane and myself being just 2 of them...

If we we're local to you - we could sort you out with a fish for a fraction of the shop prices...

If your just looking for recommendation's - read the pinned topic at the top of this section - 30 plecs under 8".
