A riverine loach group (eg. Dwarf Chain) or catfish (singleton to 5 depending upon species, eg. Hoplos with their sturdy armour; or Synodontis spp.) might work. Another possiblity would be a group of 4 or 5 Panda Garras or even BN Catfish, who both love current.

Suggestions would come down to whether you want this addition to be a diurnal species or whether something nocturnal would not bother you (and hopefully not spook the SAPs who I believe huddle up together on the tank floor).

I would prefer something that isn't nocturnal, if I'm being honest. I will take a look at the fish you suggested, thank you!
I'm getting the puffers on Monday! Can't wait! I'm going to wait a while before adding anything else, and in the meantime do some more research! Still open to suggestions!
Also, do yall think I should up the giant danio number to eight? Would eight danios, six puffs and a future bottom inhabitant be too much?

I would think the puffers would go after them Wish I could though! I have ghost shrimp in my betta tank, and they are so fun to watch!
