I have seen lobsters embedded with small fish and they dont bother them , so who has them and are they neat to have, wats the ph for them

And do u have names for ur fush

nope i dont have no names for mine yet

There are a few different "lobsters" that are aroundat the moment... I actually even saw Pets at home selling them at £12.99 each! Anyway, anyone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but the term lobster is incorrect for them... they are actually crayfish. Again, I may be wrong, but certain countries prohibit their import for varoius reasons... However I dont think this is the case for the UK. I personally think they are greatthings, they are fish friendly and a cool cleanup crew... they will strip adead fish in minutes, but shouldnt touch live ones. They are easy to keep in a tropical tank also, the latin names for them are Cherax Albertisii (BluePearl Cray fish), the common one that you may see alot of is the Red Crayfish (Procambarus clarkii), these can grow upto 20 cms in size (the blue pearl can grow upto 40cms), ideal temp is 27 deg, water conditions are flexible... Hope this helps you alittle...

yes it does thx, i cant buy it now cuz my tank is small, maybe someday tho. i went to the fish store today and it said lobsters, red lobsters or blue ones

but wat do they eat?

They are clean up crew so will eat any dead fish... they will eat things like bloodworm etc that you would feed to your fish. Scavinger is the better word to describe them... they nibble at anything!

well they are not lobsters they are Crayfish. there is only one type you can keep in this country. thats The Austrailian RedClaw Cherax quadricarinatus and you need a licence for that! officially!
they can be kept with fish, though that depends on the age of both the fish and the Cray.
they need a PH of 7-8.5.
as they mature they will need a 50ukg tank, each. though tank size is not a problem when they are young.
they can grow to 19cm and weigh up to 300gms
thay are also miners/burrowers of the highest order, compleatly redesigning a tank over night, lol
the only real problem is Medication!!!! crustatia are not too happy if you expose them to copper, an ingredient in some of fish meds.
if you get two, one of each, breedind is not to much problem too.
if you are really interested i can drop you a few links, and give any help i can.

they are the best fun you can have with your clothes on, in fishkeeping terms.......
