Wow, it's been 10 days since I posted my last update. Still no watchman. I turned over rocks yesterday and carefully put them back, I did find my pistol shrimp, but no watchman goby. And surprisingly, no spike. Go figure. So, since my parameters are actually rather excellent, I thought I'd try another YWG. Only this one ain't yeller!

She's big! From the looks of things, the females either get gray as they mature or there's a steel grey color phase as well. At any rate, she's big!!!

Just look at that face!

A distinguished profile, look that that Roman nose, that prominent jaw that says "don't mess with me Mr. Tiger pistol..."

I used to keep a pink cheeked watchman and I think I prefer the silver color more than yellow

IMO, I've seen enough mated pairs that are both yellow for me to be more inclined to believe that there is indeed a gray phase of the fish. I've also seen gray mated pairs. The degree of graying on a yellow female is not this extensive, more of a dulling rather than a complete graying. When I first saw this fish, I was like, "what?", so I did some digging while I mulled over whether to get her. Not much information out there, but the information I did find pointed to the above conclusion.

She is indeed a "yellow" watchman goby.

Yeah, those are acans. Those aren't even the nice ones. The plan is to make a little acan roof over that rock ledge, perfect spot for them. It's going to look cool. Thanks for looking.

Those acans are look really plump and healthy & I love the idea of an acan roof!!

I still find it amazing how quickly they move in together. It's like 'lets skip the first date and go straight to living together'

I love acans. I have pretty pink ones that I adore. I may get red ones today.

My acan lords in my Biocube are my favorites, however.

And true to my word, I got a red acan. But, they had a special Easter Egg deal and I then won a free frag, so I got this little favia too.

I shall begin construction on the little Acan roof for my goby pistol pair tonight. that is if my glue is still ok. I've been having glue issues.

And it shall be a fabulous animal. OMG, A coral rock almost fell on Frank the Fungia, while I was constructing the acan roof! I had drop everything to save him! I did and he's ok. All puffed up like he likes to be. I was traumatized, though. He's one of my favorites. I cannot lose Frank.
