What Livebearers should I get for a 5 gal I want at least 2 different species in my tank and will divide the males and the females up so they will not constantly reproduce. And will move my betta in to the tank.

I was think Guppiess, Mollies and Platies would be nice but obviosly I dont want to be crowded so one of them species would not be able to be in my tank.

I dunno, it's a pretty small tank. I wouldn't advise mollies or platies in, maybe guppies. But then, I wouldn't put anything in there personally.

Are you not supposed to be using it to take the pressure off your other tank? :/

Yes but I can only move the betta is what my mum said seen as the betta is my only fish. And if I moved some neons my angel would probably go for the neons

I don't understand what your plan is.

To move the betta to the new 5 and then what? You can't keep guppies with a betta and the other livebearers mentioned are too big.

Even if you keep the males and females separate, the females could self-reimpregnate because they store up the sperm.

With a betta in the tank, you could maybe put 2 or 3 guppies.

Why not?

My angel has fins and the betta doesnt go for it.

Why not to what? The guppies and betta thing? Bettas will attack anything with long, flowing and/or colourful fins.

That reason enough?

Well, most fish do have fins. I am surpirsed that the betta hasn't gone for your angel but it's more likely to go for guppies, they are smaller and their fins are more extravagent.

So Should I use a Divider?

Cheese Specialist you repeated your self.
Fine, I won't bother trying to help you.

That was an immature response and I can see that you are not going to listen to anyone. Looking at your signature:

1 Angel
14 Neons
1 Betta - It's the fish in my avatar.

You should be getting rid of fish if you cannot get a bigger tank, not buying more.

Edit (to answer next question): There's no room to divide!!! Guppies need room to swim and so you couldn't put them in a section IMO. I think the betta should have that to himself and maybe a couple of small cories.

What should I just go and throw the fish in the bin?

Of course not!!

Try to rehome them, at least temporarily. Or give them to the LFS. When do you think you could get a reasonable size tank? You angel needs a lot more room, needs at least 18" high. I imagine it's fins are doing a good jaws impression now if it's not stunted beyond all recognition.

I don't mean to get at you but you are looking to get more fish when you should really be trying to resolve the problem with the ones you have.
