Live Cam - Angels Mating...march 9, 2015, 9:15 Pm Est

That happens a lot with young couples... It may take a few tries, but eventually they should figure it out.

I'll give my angels credit for one thing: they mate like clockwork around every 10 days! Now if they would just stop eating the eggs...

Mated 2/26, eggs eaten 20 minutes later
Mated 3/9, eggs eaten 3/10
Mated 3/19, eggs eaten 3/20
Mated 3/29, eggs not yet eaten...

they're breeding more regular than mine! My female is looking very plump though so maybe not too far away from another spawn :/

Almost 48 hours in and I have only seen the male guarding the eggs so far. Here are a couple pics. He has even been fanning the eggs with his body, and he removed most of the white ones:

with my very first spawn it was my male that did the work whilst the female looked on. Now she won't let him get near them once she's finished laying and I think that may be what the problem is

Wow! I'm working from home today and just checked the tank - I have wigglers on some of the eggs! Since last night about ten more eggs turned white, but a lot of them now have little tails and the eggs are moving. I turned on the light to get a closer look and the angels immediately lip locked and started fighting pretty bad. I turned the light off right away and they calmed down. I'm not sure if the female is trying to take over care of the eggs or what. But they are both hanging near the eggs now. But I can't turn on the light without them fighting.

I just moved my dropcam to a tripod, and it's pointing right at the plant that has the wigglers. With night vision at least I can see what the angels are doing. Just can't see the eggs until the main tank light comes on later.

congrats on the wrigglers! Exciting times :D

Three full days in and the wrigglers are still there. My angel 'parents' are doing a better job so far on breeding attempt number four.

I'm jealous

Wish mine would get the hang of it :(

At some point from my last post until I got home from work, the wrigglers disappeared. The male angel continued to go back to the leaf and look for them for a few hours last night. Not sure who got them. But, as more experienced people told me, my pair seems to be improving with each effort.

Updated log:
Mated 2/26, eggs eaten 20 minutes later
Mated 3/9, eggs eaten 3/10
Mated 3/19, eggs eaten 3/20
Mated 3/29, wrigglers disappeared 4/1

check that they havn't just hidden them somewhere else ... they may have just moved them

I never saw any signs of those wriggers or fry. Logging attempt #5:

Updated log:
Mated 2/26, eggs eaten 20 minutes later
Mated 3/9, eggs eaten 3/10
Mated 3/19, eggs eaten 3/20
Mated 3/29, wrigglers disappeared 4/1 (male guarding most of the time)
Mated 4/7, eggs eaten the same night (female guarding)

I think my pair are thinking about spawning. My female is really fat and I spotted them cleaning leaves on and off yesterday and today. They're not being aggressive with each other yet though so I've maybe got a little longer to wait. Hopefully they'll get them further next time
