Little Emma's sick

thanks.

Well when we went to see her she was spunky and acting normal. But the blood test results wont be in till noon tommorow. And the vet said her fever needs to break with in 48 hours as well.

I hope she gets better, WRS. I know how heartbreaking it is to have a sick pet.

On a side note:

Does the store you bought her from have any type of health garrantee?

I would bring the vet bill and the lab results into that store and let them know they sold you a VERY sick animal. If you are not a vocal person, have your parents go.

were thinking about that, because the cost is like over $1000 to care for her.

An Update: She was doing better and her fever was going down last night. But when the vet came in today she had a masive diariah, really bloody, and she went into shock with a temp of 93 Degress F. They did a blod transfusion and she became stable.

The results came back as well for her distemperm, ent and she does have it, which if she makes it past the 1 year mark, she should be fine after wards, and my cats as well because of them having their shots.

the vet is still hopefull though

Oh shucks ! Sorry to hear ! :/

I really hope she does pulls through - this is usually unfortunately a very bad situation (to tell you the truth).

Quite personally I don't actually have my cat inoculated as he does not have outdoor access at all. Poor chap can't even escape as we have double doors and special cat screens on the windows.

It's a real shame she does not have insurance either. Here in the UK there are several schemes you can sign up to which will give the first few months’ fee cover and you can cancel it at any point thereafter - and it's usually the first few weeks that things crop up anyway.

I currently don't have insurance for my cat either (luckily I can get all procedures at cost - even though I don't work as a vet nurse anymore I still have my contacts :shifty: ) but he's now approaching 5 years of age and I'm going to start insuring him from next year. That's the sort of average age that certain chronic illness starts creeping in and in later years the potential kidney, liver or thyroid failure (to name but a few).

Well let us know how she does - all the best. I know this is a very difficult time.

one of the vets said that she has never seen what my cat went through and survived, meaning she is shocked that emma is still alive, thats why they are hopeful.

The only thing though that they said needs to stop is her bloody diariah, and they want us to send her to a 24 hour care place for a few days, as she should be fine being there. If we sent her there at first though, they said she would have been alot better now.

Maybe she will get better, my uncle had a dog that had a horrible case of limes disease that medicine wouldnt help, and when they brought her to be put down she all of a sudden got better and is alive and doing fine today.

Oh, btw, the vet said her is going to give her tamiflu, as its been a proven fact that that will help symptoms of the disease in cats, and other cats have had it, but she is a kitten, so it may not be the same, though I am hoping that it is, and I really would like her to get better and come home ASAP, my little Molly ( who is 4 yrs old and the size of a 4.5 month old kitten) was just starting to get attatched to her.

Now if she does make it would this disease give her any problems sure when she is older, like being smaller like Molly?
