I am having an epidemic with snails currently, and don't fancy treating with chemicals and manual removal dont work,

my plant anchored to some Rock is coverd,
If i took this out and put VERY HOT water on it, I'm sure the snails would die but how would my plant do under the the heat?

I agree it is,but i have small fish and im putting off buying more Fish as im attempting to learn about planted tanks more and dont want casualties,
as it is I wish i didnt have the fish I do, But cant have rid of them I love them to much.

It wont elimate all of them but it will take some out, put in sum lettuce or cucumer at night and take it out in the morning and it should have quite a lot of snails on it

I don't recall the ratio however it should be very findable. The ratio being the bleach, yes bleach, solution that you dip plants in to euthanize the "little bas-----". It is a short dip, rinse well and then back into the tank. The recomended order is to do the dip routine before putting the plants in the tank at the outset however, I can see no reason why this will not work at this point in time. I think the ratio is 3 percent but have a search to confirm or correct.

I was reading about eliminating Black Beard algae, as the pant I received from a co-worker has it on,
this plant is also coverd with little snails I think they like nesting on it,
anyhow back to the point,
I read its a ration of 14 part water 1 part bleach, to kill the algae, leaving the plant in there for 3min or so,
I assume this would also kill the little sods, ( I tried the Cucumber but my catfish couldn't resist)

when they say part I assume of equal amounts for instance 14cups of water 1 cup of bleach?
