I recently got hold of two pairs of these lovely fish but the Males are chasing
the females down badly.

Can't track anybody down in the UK who will sell Females of this fish only.

But can find L.Nigrofasciata Females. I am not a huge hybrid fan. However I would
rather they have cross species than dead fish.

Are the fry likely to be fertile?

Opinions welcome.

Welcome to TFF!

Can we have some more info on tank size and structure? Tank could be too small and/or not enough structured. Also it might look brutal for you, but somehow I cannot imagine that real damage is done, if the tank is right.

I would not go for a second species, as fish can very well distinguish between species and the males will still very much only go for their females.

Thank you for the reply. The tank is an Aquael Glossy 80. 125 litres 80cm foo print

Measurement - CM -80X35X54

Stripped down and using an Ehiem pick up filter and Aqua One 38 watt plant grow light.

Its plants with straight Valli's at the back and Cabomba at the sides.
Tonight I increased the amount of Cabomba and placed some line of sight dragon stone blocks. I found some juveniles of this species too at an Lfs about 20 miles away.....And have added 8 more. Juvenile fish of 3 months old creating a little more harmony.

Maybe I need to stop thinking so much about show tank and more hiding space too. I am still trying to keep at least area specific with planting.

I think you could well bevright about it looking brutal to me.I started
With more simple LFS Guppy's act before wanting to challenge myself a bit further.

I am not sure if its adding the extra thick plant coverage or fish or combination of both but things now seem to be a little calmer can post pics of tank too.

I thank you for your imput .
