Hey guys,
I bought a lightstrip that supports dual tubes and I was wondering what I could do to have it push 220W. Is this possible? Thanks! :D

You will not get 220W from 2 tubes at all. My 4 bulbs give out only 120W. Hopefully tomorrow i'm buying a 150W metal halide and i'll use the 2 t5's.

Anyways back to topic, from 2 tubes you might get around the 50-60W mark, but no more. Specially if they are T8's you might get even less.

T8's are fatter tubes, and T5's are slimmer but much better and brighter, just in case you dont know.

Well, I have a 55 Gallon Tank and I was reading an article that says to keep my amenome alive, I need 4 watts per gallon. Is this true? Thanks! :dunno:

Im not sure of the watts per gallon but basically they need all the light you can throw at them so that calcualtion is probably correct.

They usually wont survive and thrive under normal lightining. I think what I have is to low, hence me buying the metal halide for it. It lives yeah, but is not thriving even with what I have.

I run 2 T'5s, and 2 T8's. 1 T5 and T8 at the front, and same for the rear but the T8 is atinic.

Here in the pic you can very easily see the difference between a POWER-GLO T8 to a normal T5 light (T5 ben the brightest..) :)
