I was glad the manager of this particular store really took heart to what I was saying. The ultimate goal is that fish are cared for well.

As Eagles said, Amber, your comments were fine. You can see where he has edited the iffy stuff.

Sorry about that.

Its a learning process.  Please learn the lesson.  :D

Observable fact: the day I went in, the loaches were not wearing tuxedos. :D

Yeah, my apologizes for violating the "name and shame" rule. That was completely my bad, I would've felt guilty if the forums took responsibility for my actions.
Thank you for editing my comments instead of just deleting the entire comment. I appreciate that and am totally fine with this. I should of read the rules a bit more thoroughly, completely my bad.
Although, it frustrates me that these "chain stores" get away with some of the stuff they do to those poor creatures.

Funny that I get into trouble not knowing what I'm doing. Seems like I've been learning that lesson my entire life. Lol

Haha that's my luck too. I am talented at breaking rules. Maybe that makes me good at art :)

That's my entire learning life. "Oh yea... That's a rule.... Darn..."
I got the e-mail when I first woke up "you have received a warning from Tropical Fish Forums", like what? What did I do??
Didn't even cross my mind...

And yeah, I think I will start to take it up to the managers because it's so wrong! I see it every time and I just huff and groan in disgust, but never really do anything about it. Probably, because in my mind I have a feeling I know how it'll turn out. They'll listen, then just tell what I want to hear so I can leave. So I don't even bother, really.
I'm going to at least " try" next time I visit any of these stores that seem to be mistreating any animal for that matter. I'm not exactly the sturn or assertive type, so we'll see how it plays out. :/

Rainbow, this forum is here to promote learning, and not always about fish.  We appreciate your fervor, if not your actual choice of words.

As far as discussing issues with the manager... we can only do what we can.  If they listen and make changes, great.  If not, then perhaps you want to consider a full boycott.  You can also gather some others from amongst your friends and have them go in on a different day and share the same basic list of complaints.  Send letters to corporate, etc.  There are lots of ways to promote change, and hopefully change will come.

I'm quite aware these forums exist to expand everyone's current knowledge. And I know this isn't only for fish! I've had the pleasure of discovering that while exploring these forums a few days ago! To my surprise, these forums have a very broad range of interests for people in the hobby of pet keeping.
But wouldn't discussing the conditions that these chain stores keep their livestock in, the ones that we purchase to get them out of those terrible conditions be important to the learning part? I know not all of them are terrible, but most places I've been to, my friends, my family, other people over other forums, all of these places seem to mistreat their livestock. There are, however, those certain places where the employees even agree and have been aware of the conditions for decades. Some employees I've talked to, even have admitted that was the entire reason they've taken that job, is to attempt to better those conditions for the species they sale.

As pointed out in this thread, as long as the comments are based on a specific visit with observable facts, as the OP in this thread, absolutely talk about it. The goal is to increase knowledge not to start a witch hunt. The line seems blurred at times, and that's the role of the moderation process.
